Concepts are conceived as the most fundamental and minute components of theories in humanities, and due to the possibility of being misconstrued and causing futile debates, they are also regarded as the most detrimental constituents. Initially, in this essay. four concepts that are set side by side with four distinct prohlematics are distinguished and subsequently the relation of religion in general and Islam in particular with each of these is scrutinised. Firstly glohality is a reality related to the quantitative satiety of the world, increase in communications and the overall interdependency of all the component elements. Globalization, on the other hand, is a genera] term about that part of the theoretical literature on this newly emerged phenomenon, which strives to explain its causes, grounds and origins, provide procedural analysis and foresee the orientation and the ultimate intentions in the past, present and future of this phenomenon. Globalization is one ofʹ the theories that increasingly tend to shrink to strategic and even ideological level. This is the level that in this essay has been referred to as globalizing. Globalit as a realized reality, and globalization as an ongoing process or its explanatory theory for the dominating forces and ascendant currents that are foreseeing the process of existing affairs in accordance with their interests and benefits, eventually gained the nature of an ideology and strategy. At least two currents of thought are formed in favour of and against globality and globalization. Globalism is the supportive ideology of this process. In order to achieve valid and clear responses to the relations between religion and global phenomenon it is necessary to investigate into all the above issues together with all varieties of religions. In this essay different forms of these threats and opportunities in relation to Islam are seen distinctively. It appears that the most significant encounter between Islam and global phenomenon would occur when this phenomenon emerges in a strategic and specifically orientated form, hence a significant part of this essay presents this issue in details.
