Library sources and services for handicapped users of public libraries of Tehran

Present study considers the situation of special services and sources existing in the public libraries of Tehran under supervision of the Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance. In this study survey research method is used. Information is gathered through questionnaire. Research population consists of 26 public libraries of Tehran which are under supervision of the Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance. Research findings show that most of the libraries are not suitable for traffic of the handicapped users. Library services for handicapped users are centralized at reference and lending divisions, and printed items are the only materials prepared for them. So handicapped users can use reference section and its resources the most, and research findings also show that non of the libraries have not prepared any special equipments for them.
