A survey on information retrieval behavior of the experts working at departments of National Oil Company: South Oil Fields- Ahvaz

This survey research takes information retrieval behavior of the engineers and experts who are working at dependent departments of Technical Assistancy "National Oil Company, South Oil Fields- Ahvaz into consideration. This survey considers methods of information retrieval, range of used information resources, and difficulties and barriers of access to information. Results show that research population use both formal and informal channels for information retrieval. Formal channel is the Central Library of the Company and consulting with interior experts and contribution in meetings are the two important informal channels for retrieving information. Shortage of time, not being acquainted with new sources, and lack of new books are of the most important factors which cause not to access the needed information.
