Descriptors and Title Keywords - Matching in Medical PhD Dissertations. (11 PP.)

Using survey methodology, the present research intends to match descriptors with title keywords of PhD dissertations on medical science including pediatric, gynecology, cardiology, and psychiatry. Through checklist approach, 506 dissertations, which were selected by random sampling, were analyzed. Findings of the research showed the average match was 70.3 percent between descriptors and title keywords in general. Moreover, the increase in number of title keywords had no impact on the rate of matching.
