Designing a model for storage and organizing the mapsʹ and plansʹ information of technical and development projects in Iran

Every development plan, once implemented, leads to production of documents such as map, technical drawings, schematics and blue sheet which are often called drawings. These are in fact the knowledge products that mark an invaluable information source. But Iike all information resources, these are considered valuable entities only when they could be accessed and utilized. In other word, they should be organized in a way so that they could be appropriately stored, retrieved and used. The lack of such system in Iran leads to the idea of designing an outline for storage and retrieval of just such kind of information material. Upon reviewing the theoretical principles, several classification schemes, Marc 21 and IranMarc, we decided to base our classification schemes and organization methods on Marc 21 and IranMarc. The outline is designed so that to organize such materials at minimal cost while providing an optimal storage and retrieval facility for such drawings.
