Paradigm in information retrieval

Paradigm is a way of viewing the world by a scientific community. We mainly view individuals influenced by different theories, epistemologies and paradigms which are very often partly unconscious or neglected by the individual. The paradigm concept is a super individual. Structure of meaning, which is formed and reproduced in disciplinary socialization, teaching, and scholarly communication. An essential concept in information systems is how people interpret the text to be organized and searched as well as the information needs that should be fulfilled. This paper concentrates on this concept and it is often shown how different approaches or paradigms in represented literature imply different information needs and information seeking behaviors.
