Percutaneus Nephrostolithotomy in Patients with Renal Stone Imam Reza Hospital 1995-2000

Percutaneus Nephrostolithotomy (PCNL) is an effective, less invasive and reliable for renal stones and in era Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), PCNL method use for treatment of renal stone. In this study, evaluated results and complications of PCNL in the patients with renal stones in the department of urology, Imam Reza Hospital between 1995-2000. In this research 750 kidneys with renal stone candidate for PCNL. Target stone remove or complete clearance was done in 90.7^0 but failure rates were 9.3%. The complications (15.4%) completely were treated conservatively. The high success and low morbidity rate of PCNL are attractive to the patients and urologist. PCNL dramatically altered management of renal stone for which ESWL is not appropriate or failed. PCNL virtually decreased open surgical procedure in renal stone.
