RELIGIOUS HUMANISM IN ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN OR THEO - DEMOCRACY

Theological, legal and political discussions over the question of ʹIslam" and its political aspect in the form of "Republic" in the context of Islamic Republic of Iran has recently given rise to a new controversial concept: "Religious Humanism" . The prime intent of this article is to examine this concept and its principles. To this end, the article will appraise the relationship between the three important principles of governance which are: the basis of religious legitimacy of the system; its materialization and the system administrators within the framework of theism, humanism and elitism and their roles in the Islamic Republic of Iran. For this purpose the Constitution of Iran and the relevant literature will be under examination.
