Clinical and Laboratory Findings in Patients With Measles in Tohid HospitalKanani

Introduction: Measles is an acute contagious viral infection in children. Despite extensive vaccination programs worldwide, measle is the most mortal disease that can be prevented by vaccination. Material and Methods: The study was descriptive. Statistical population included 129 patients who hospitalized in infection ward for measle evaluation. Data was gathered through history and physical examination. Serum samples of patients were analyzed using Elisa test. Results: The mean age of patients was 21 7.3 year. The minimum and the maximum age of patients were 2 and 58 years. 80 patients (62%) was male and 49 (38%) was female. Elisa test showed that 109 patients (84.5%) infected with measles, 11(8.5%) with Rubella, 3 patients with B19 and 2 cases with Rosella infantum. Others were not diagnosed. Conclusion: The results of investigation showed that in spite of vaccination, measles can cause the disease in adults.
