Transient hydrocephaly in mumps

Mumps is a contagious viral disease that presents as unilateral or bilateral parotid enlargement. The complications of the disease is widespred involvement of different organs from central nervous system to pancreas. This is a report of a 10 year old boy who was admitted due to mumps meningo encephalitis.Brain CT scan was done due to persistence CNS presentations, which showed an obvious hydrocephalus.The signs and symptoms relieved acetazolamid and dexametazone. The consciousness became normal and hydrocephaly also decreased.
