A Survey on some of the Reproductive and Productive Traits in Khuzestane Buffalo

The present study was conducted during years 1369-1373 to determine some of the reproductive and productive traits of Buffalos that were rearing under hot and wet conditions in Raminʹs Research Center of Ahwaz. Analysis of the data showed that age of the first breeding of buffalo heifers and number of servies per pregnancy were 920.5±159.7 and 1.65 days, respectively. The parturition to first estrus and artificial insemination resulted in pregnancy were 58.4±35.3 and 86.5±55.68 days respectively. Duration of pregnancy and calving interval were 307.5±7.82 and 400.1±63.15 days, respectively. Birth weight of the male and female calves were 37.5±4.9 and 36.3±4.5kg and the percentage of male and female calves were 53.20/0 and 46.8% respectively. Duration of lactation were 249.7±43,23 days and total and daily milk production were 1400.3±369.44 and 5.6±1.17 liter, respectively.
