"Mehr" the god of Peace and Promise*

Ancient Iran has been the place of great religions and rites. The appearance of these rites is a sign of high intellect and sublime culture existing in old time Iran which today reflects ancient Iranian culture and civilization. One of the religion whose history goes back to 3000 BC is the Mithraism. This religion was widely honored and respected by different Iranian ethnic groups. It crossed the borders of Iran covered neighboring countries, and even reached Greece and Rome.
