Performance Evaluation of Organizationʹs Quality Management System by Using AHP

In recent years, many attempts have been made to establish quality management systems in Iran. What have been done got more serious and more scientific, especially after introducing the standards of quality management systems like 1509000 in Iran. But system performance evaluation and effectiveness measurement were ignored then. Implementing an effective quality management system would be very costly for a company, so it is necessary that quality system provides the organization with a kind of improvement concerning its performance. Otherwise it imposes a lot of expenses on the organization, with nothing to make up for. This fact leads Azin Khodro Company to use statistical techniques like AHP and Kendal coefficient_ for evaluating the performance of quality system and making a reliable indicator for performance evaluation, comparing different time periods, and defining improvement projects in the organization. This article indicates a case study, carried out with AHP and a questionnaire, filled by 30 managers and experts of the company. According to the findings, the score of quality system performance indicator in this company was 63 out of 100. Due to the factors and parameters that constitute this indicator, several projects were defined to improve quality system and increase its effectiveness.
