The Evaluation of Areas for Implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (Case Study)

Organizations, as the actual realization and dynamism of human beingʹs thinking, need to utilize IT as a tool for improving their performance. IT is the prerequisite for accessing to and processing information. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are among the new tools for improving organizational performance. ERP systems are designed to integrate all information systems, company-wide. Through ERP the speed of data circulation will increase in the whole company. Choosing the best way of operation for business process, standardization of the processes in organization, and creating a data base with less ambiguity and error would be realized by integrating activities in the organization. To assess the areas for implementing ERP in auto industry, two categories of internal and external factors should be considered. In internal side strategic and tactical aspects and in external side cultural and technological aspects were studied in this research. A questionnaire was distributed between some ERP experts in auto industry. After collecting the questionnaires, simple average and variance are calculated. Using single variable "t student" test and findings from 20 factors reveal that only 4 areas, i.e." quality of internal network", "using mechanization", "human resource training", and using expert consultants" are ready to implement ERP.
