چكيده لاتين :
Most of thermal power plants of Iran use fuel oil as source of energy in winters that may affect the atmospheric environment of the vicinity of them. In the present investigation dispersion of S02 from Shahid Rajaee thermal power plant in the 25 km off Qazvin along Qazvin-Tehran express way was simulated by SCREEN3 air pollution model. Results revealed that the smoke plume disperse towards south east and maximum S02 concentrations occur at distances 5-12 km downwind the stack. In other cases, maximum concentrations occur at about 30 km distance from stack. Comparing maximum S02 concentrations output from the model with the national Clean Air Act standards revealed that 3 and 24 hr concentration standards would not be deteriorated in the study area as a result of fuel oil combustion in Shahid Rajaee thermal power plant under any atmospheric circumstances in day or night.
