Energy Management and Presenting Methods of Energy Saving in a Chemical Factory

The chemical products of this factory are: Formalin, Industrial glue, Melamine formaldehyde powder, lea powder and Dry glue. Annual energy consumption in this factory is around 1.5 million MWh (electrical) and 2.6 million m^3 natural gas. Energy consumption per unit of products (Specific energy consumption - SEC) is identified based on energy audit and measurement of electricity and fuel consumption for each unit (plant). In this factory, for producing 1 ton of formalin, powder liquid glue and Dry glue, electrical energy consumtion is 208, 68, 71, 1443 KWh and fossil energy consumption is 1464, 301, 651, 11899 M. Balance of air fuel ratio in boilers, isolation and vapor product by exchangers of form n unit, use of air drierʹs preheat load management to ball mills and lighting, are suggestions for decreasing energy losses and costs. By performance of the suggestions, more than 600 MWh electrical and 34000 fossil energy will be saved each year. Totally, energy saving potential in this factory is about 6000BOE/year.
