Determining Factors in the Rise of Arabic Literature in Persian Literature after the Arab Conquest of Persia

This article sees the Arab conquest of Persia as one of the most significant events in the history of Iran that brought about many changes including the spread of Arabic literature in the country. The author first discusses some positive and negative aspects of this new phenomenon in Persian literature. He, then, focuses on the resilience of the vernacular and Persian literature that, in spite of the Arab dominance, not only did not accept the ethnic culture of the Arabs but also overruled this political dominance by creating masterpieces in literature that have found permanent places in world literature.
