بررسي شيوع افسردگي و عوامل موثر بر آن در زنان نابارور مراجعه كننده به كلنيك نازايي منتصر به مشهد

Introduction: Despite the fact that various studies have demonstrated the importance of the mind-body connection and fertility, the psychosocial aspects of infertility have not been adequately addressed. A cross sectional study was designed to determine the prevalence of depression and related factors in infertile women, in Montaserieh Reproductive Health Research Center, Mashhad, Iran. Method and Material: 200 female patients with different infertility causes participated in, and data was gathered by Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) for determining depression due to infertility. This was studied in relation to patientsʹ age, job, educational level, cause and duration of infertility (patients and their husbands). Results: Age range was 21-33 years and duration of infertility was 1-19 years. 57.1 % of participants had depression (mild to severe), 20.9% had clinical depression. Depression had a significant relation with age, job and educational level, of women and their husbands, but not with cause and duration of infertility. Conclusion: Adequate attention to these patients psychologically and treating them properly, is of great importance for their mental health and will improve quality of their lives.
