This paper presents the simulation results of static asphaltene precipitation in natural depletion and gas injection processes by using the commercial computer package <>. In this research work, precipitated asphaltene is modeled as a pure dense phase.The advantage of this approach is the division of the heaviest component of the oil into a nonprecipitating and a precipitating component. The computer simulation data are compared with the available experimental results. The former indicate that, molar volume and Fugacity of precipitating component considerably influnce predicted amount of asphaltene precipitation. Model sensivity analysis indicates that in natural depletion process, volume shift parameter of precipitating component has an effect on the amount of asphaltene precipitation at all pressures, but binary interaction coefficient of precipitating component strongly affects the calculations below the saturation pressure. In gas injection process, interaction coefficient influence the prediction of saturation pressure, and weight fraction of precipitating asphaltene. The volume shift parameter of the asphaltene component is an important parameter for modelling the pressure effect. The interaction coefficient strongly affects the calculations below the saturation pressures and are important parameters for modelling compositional effect.
