"Militarism" is among the terms that, with regard to the specific conceptual or referrent bearing, can not be omitted from political - military literature. However, the changes in conditions may change the concept and referrent of the term. In the present article, and attempt has been made to review the development in the concept and content of the term "militarism". At the end, the effects of such developments on international relations have been discussed.
