Deterrence in Zionist Regime Strategic Doctrine ; The Position, Dimension and Effectiveness

Deterrence, as a fundemental principle in zionist regime strategic doctrine, has been focused on a vector of objectives starting from "maintenance of daily security and extending to "prevention of outbreak of conventional wars" with Arab States Armies and ultimately ending in "avoiding unconventional war" as well as forcing muslims in the region to recognize the existance of zionist regime. The very deterrence policy; however, has only been successful, to some extent, in preventing conventional wars, but it could not bring about any concrete success in controlling daily threats, and despite some limited achievements in forcing some regional states to recognize the existance of zionist regime, this regime have not had any noticeable progress in this regard. In this article, with the goal of reviewing the above-mentioned situations, first the theoretical discussions about the concept of deterrence is presented, then Israeli strategic doctrine will be considered and then place, dimensions and levels of deterrence principle has been discussed and finally the effectiveness of deterrence doctrine for zionist regime at those three levels will be reviewed.
