The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of parental inducement of Academic Self-Regulation (ASR) on studentʹs ASR and their achievement. For this purpose, 201 high school students in grade 1 (81 boys, 120 girls) were used as the sampie.These students showed their parceptions of their parentsʹ influence on their ASR, with answering the PIASR questionaire. They also answered ASR questionaire. We also used the mean of Farsi and Mathematics scores as the measure of academic achievement, Path Analysis indicated a diret effect of Parental SR inducement on studentsʹ ASR and a direct effect of studentsʹ ASR on achievement. ALSO, parental SR inducement Significantly predicted studentsʹ achievement through mediation of studentsʹ ASR. Besides multivariate regression showed encouragement as one of the most important compoent of parental SR in predicting achievement. These findings have implications for family instruction and for improving ASR.
