Verse stories in the Arabic literature

A story in verse is a blend of two rhetorical arts: poetry and story telling. Here the poet, depending on poetic inspiration, promotes the story to the level of poetry and blends the two arts in a more elaborate picture which reflects the characteristics of both arts,. To achieve success in this art, the greatest requirement for the poet is the poetʹs power of inspiration and his talent for creating images and allusions. Besides these two inner requirements, the poet needs to make use of the findings of sciences, especially psychology, for writing stories in verse. A story inverse has various forms, genres and motifs; some of them are as old as the Arabic poetry itself. That is why the quantity of such stories are also important. However, examples of stories inverse which reflect the basics of both arts are infrequent in the ancient Arabic literature and are rare in contemporary Arabic literature.
