Specific attention to Language is one of the major characteristics of the social theory in the second half of the 20th century. "Linguistic turn" is the so-called term for this changing approach in social theory. The emergence of "discourse" as a descriptive and analytical concept in literature to some extent resulted from the linguistic turn. This paper presents different definitions of discourse analysis and their points of focus, and review some kind of researches that organized based on concept of discourse and discourse analysis. But, the main concern of the article is critical discourse and analysis (CDA). General aspects of CDA, and CDA as a method of critical analysis will be discussed. Some critics of the CDA as a research method will also be discussed.
