The representing of some approaches to alleviate the salinity stress effects can provide the possibility of using saline water in wheat irrigation .This research was conducted for determining the most sensitive phenological stages) of wheat development to salinity as well as yield component using path coefficient analysis. A factorial sand culture experiment with two completely randomized replications was used. Salinity levels were 0, 100, 200, and 300 mollm (NaCI / CaCI2) and three exposing periods to salinity (throughout the growth season, from two-leaf stage to booting stage, and from two-leaf s to the end of anthesis). The results of studied ontogenic relationships and path coefficients indicated that seed number per spike was more sensitive than seed weight. The sensitivity of wheat to salinity was decreased during grain filling period. In addition, the sterile floret number per spikelet was more sensitive than spikelet number per spike. Therefore, use of some approaches, such as combining of saline and non-saline water in sensitive growth stages (before seed filling period) can be useful to alleviate the yield reduction in the presence of salinity. The results indicated that path coefficient analysis is more effective than ANOVA and simple correlation coefficient methods in study of yield components, especially under stress conditions.
