A Comparison between the Versified Jamiʹs "Yusof and Zolaykha" with the Story of "Hazrate Yusofʹ in the Holy Koran

Story telling with its different forms such as epic, lyric, etc., has been used as an effective style in literature. It has also been used by poets and writers as a main source of knowledge for stating mysticism, wisdom and reasoning. In our literature, a close look suggests that story telling has benefited a lot from the Koran. The story of "Yusof and Zolaykha" has been narrated in poetic form in the form of epic or lyrics. In this paper, one of the versified lyrics--Jamiʹs versified "Yusof and Zolaykha", has been compard with the story of "Yusof and Zolaykha" in the Koran along with analyzing some of the story-type elements and mystical points in Jamiʹs work. In addition, some of the story-type elements and mystical points have been pointed out in Jamiʹs work.
