In the 1990s, America was seeking to expand itʹs influence and institutionalize itʹs power in different areas. The Bosnia and Herzegovina crisis was one of the earliest fields where Americaʹs power in Europe was challenged to be tested. America tried to institutionalize and stabilize itʹs power and influence in the Eastern-and even the entire Europe, by managing this crisis which the Europeans had difficulties to deal with. This lead for the Deiton contract to be signed, after which America sought to assume a control over the society, itʹs institutions and the forming region, through state-building and controlling as well as weakening the belligerent parties. The relative success America gained in this crisis has been adopted as a behavior mode] on the part of this state in similar crises such as Cosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
