Economic Implications of Iranʹs Information Sectors in the Framework of Input-Output Table

In line with the emergence of information role in the economic areas since 1980s on, researchers have started to design input-output tables of information to analyze its economic impacts and implications. The substitution of information with energy is considered their most important findings. This paper uses the input-output table to approximately identify the information sectors and to separate them from the non-information sectors for the first time. It also explains statistical challenges of economic surveys of information in Iran through focusing on both information-intensity and income-generating approaches of information sectors.
