Determination of Natural Point of Flow of Oil Wells by Nodal Analysis

In order to explain the use of nodal analysis for production design, the basic equations governing flow of oil and gas in the porous media and vertical and horizontal pipes have been addressed. The oil flow rate from a production well is not only dependent on the characteristics of the reservoir and flow properties of the fluids, but it depends on the diameter of. tubing and flowline, as well. Any pressure drop in the vertical and horizontal pipes and down-hole equipments also, affects the production rate. in this paper, the nodal analysis method is reviewed and the effect of separator pressure and pressure drop in horizontal and vertical pipes on production rate is discussed
