lieves that the "morale collapse" of the Iraqi army, lead to its defeat in the 2003 war. Hence, he first examines fundamental effective factors on morale and the consequences of its weakening. Then he looks at the process of the Iraqi armyʹs morale destruction. According to him, the U.S. conducted a pre-planned multi-stage senario to destroy the morale of Iraqi army and provide for its easy defeat. In the First stage, the Iraqi forces were led to a state of untolerable panic for most of the normal people. Next they were deprived of psychological requirements of sustained resistance. Finally, they were encouraged to distrust Saddam and gain a pessimistic view towards him. Moreover, methods such as spreading of rumors, propaganda and deception were effectively applied.
