چكيده لاتين :
Oxidative coupling of methane was studied in a tip plate plasma reactor .The reaction was preformed at atmospheric pressure and temperatures below 200C. It was found that plasma volume increases when the number of tips increases, which in turn leads to higher methane conversion. The reaction products consisted of C2 hydrocarbons i.e., acetylene, ethylene and ethane, C3-C66 hydrocarbons, CO,., H2, H2O and trace amounts of carbonaceous deposits. However, the selectivity of the reaction towards C3+ hydrocarbons was quite low The maximum C2 yield obtained in this solely was 30.2%, which resulted from 54% methane conversion and 56% C2 selectivity. The condition, which led to the maximum C2 yield, was, 10 mA current and 3 kV DC voltage. It was also observed that the presence of NH4Y zeolite in the plasma reactor enhances the reaction performance.
