This article focuses on symbolic images and figurative symbols that abound in mystic literature. The writer first divides mystic terms into two kinds: formal terms and figurative symbols. Then, after discussing the way symbolic images is formed in the mystic poetry, the writer shows the importance of the analysis of images for an understanding of the artistic creation of mystics. Raising the questions of innovation and imitation in creating mystic images, the writer suggests a method for understanding and analysis of the individuality of mystic poets. Finally the writer discusses the esthetics of symbolic images in the mystic literature.
