An Analytical Appraisal of the Spatial Development Model for Tourism planning

Tourism industry has now become one of the worldʹs largest industries, but Iranʹs contributions is very limited, despite its extensive attractions for tourism development. Today, the development of tourism is considered as an alternative to the countryʹs highly crude oil exporting dependent economy. Application of models in planning is a prerequisite for the development of the industry. This paper analyses the spatial model, as a true test of the debate and concludes that it has a high feasibility for tourism planning in Iran. Its aplication limits the disintegration of the industryʹs spatial development.
