كاربرد استناد در نگارش هاي علمي

Citations are Parts of the distinct elements in scientific writings, and play an effective role in production and dissemination of information. They are not something new but are as old as the scientific writing itself. The authors of this kind of writings have been aware of the importance of previous relevant works since the earliest times . This article intends to show the importance and necessity of the careful use of citations through presentation some examples of the citations used by a few ancient authors, and also through considering the result of three modern studies on the use of citations. From these considerations and also with regards to the state of citations in Persian scientific writings, several distinct points can be obtained. It seems that observing the criteria of these points would be remarkably effective in improving the authenticity of the scientific writings.
