International political economy (IPE) is an eclectic discipline which involves in both theoretical and practical issues and has been divided in different school and approaches . If scholars of the IPE could make coherence and convergence among these schools & approaches then the mentioned diversity will be a strong point of the discipline. This paper will explain developments of the IPE theories & debates to provide a proper ground for a constructive dialogue among scholars of the discipline; so theoretical debates among realists, liberalists and Marxists scholars, along with the rationalism vs. critical theory approaches to the IPE will be explained in the paper.
