Mahaabaad turmoil and its background and formation.

Formation of separatist movements by some ethnic tribes in Iran is one of the sociopolitical subjects in contemporary history of Iran which their main supporters had been one or more foreign countries. When in WWII Iran was occupied by Russian, British and American troops and day by day as their unity changed to rivalry, USSR started supporting separatist activities by its proponents in Azerbaijan and Kurdistan provinces to achieve more privileges from Iran. In Kurdistan, specifically in Mahaabaad, a separatist movement led by Qaazi Mohammad was shaped. This political turmoil backed by the soviet politics, without public support and abusing the weakness of the central power, constituted an independent government apart from the central government for a short period. In this article the formation trend of this political movement by Qaazi Mohammad, the Soviets and British policy toward it and also its collapse are studied.
