Interindustrial Linkage Analysis Between Railway Transportation and the other Economic Sectors in I.R.Iran by Using the Input-Output Analysis

The main objective of this research is to estimate interconnection linkage between railway transportation and other economic sectors in I.R.Iran. To this aim input-output model is being used. Pure table that is being used, calculated from "Use" and "Make" tables of 1367(1988) printed by central bank of I.R.Iran. The results indicate that output multiplier of railway transportation is 1.5 which is the 14th between all sectors. It is also found that the railway transportation have largest backward linkage with fuel, public administration, engines and turbines industry. On the other hand, mining products industry, electricity, chemical products industry and fabricated metal products machinery industry have largest forward linkage with railway transportation. Survey of gross value added details indicate that share of gross wages and salaries is 46 percent in railway transportation that must be adjustmented.
