بررسي الگوي غشاي پايه در درجات مختلف ديسپلازي و سرطان تمايزيافته سلول سنگفرشي با استفاده از رنگ آميزي هاي رتيكولين ، هماتوكسيلين ايوزين و PAS

The Study of Basement Membrane in Mild, Moderate, Severe Dysplasia and Well-Differentiated Squamous Cell Carcinoma with Reticulin, Haematoxylin & Eosin and Periodic Acid Schiff Stains.

Introduction: With attention to epithelial variations in different types of dysplasia and well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma and importance of basement membrane (BM), we attempt to compare the pattern of BM in mentioned lesions with reticulin, Periodic acid Schiff (PAS) and Haematoxylin - Eosin (H&E) stains. Materials & Methods: This descriptive study has two stages, in first stage, the medical charts of patients in central pathology Dep. of Imam Khomeini hospital from (1377 - 1382) 1998 - 2004 was evaluated. The 21 lesions with pathologic diagnosis as mild, moderate, severe dysplasia and well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma were selected. In the second step, the pattern of BM was studied with reticulin, PAS and H&E stained sections. Results: A) Normal epithelium: with H&E, PAS and Reticulin staining the BM was continues and thick. B) Mild dysplasia: with H&E and PAS staining the BM was continues and thin. The BM pattern with reticulin was thick and continues. C) Moderate dysplasia: The pattern of BM with H&E staining was not sharp. In other hand, the BM with PAS staining was sharp. With reticulin, was thick and irregular, but not continues. D) Severe dysplasia: With H&E staining, BM was not sharp. With PAS was thin and with reticulin was very thin. E) Well differentiated SCC: In H&E and PAS staining BM was not sharp, with reticulin was very thin and not continues. Conclusion: The histopathologic pattern of basement membrane is different in mild, moderate, severe dysplasia and SCC. Reticulin staining has rather ability for showing BM variations.
