چكيده لاتين :
- In the present paper, the process of impact spot welding of metallic plates by water jet is investigated. The process combines the features of liquid jet impact and that of impact welding between metallic components. A water jet impinges normally upon a thin plate termed the flyer plate. The flyer plate in the zone of its interaction with the jet rapidly assumes a bulgy shape. The bulge profile travels forward and subsequently impinges on the patent plate leaving film - free surfaces pressed together into atomic contact thus establishing a metallurgical bond.The mechanism is basically very similar to that of encountered in explosive welding. Investigating the effect of various mechanical and metallurgical parameters leads to successful modelling of the process.
