South-West Asia with an area of 12 millions Square Kilo-meters includes 25 countries - Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan - Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Turkey, Cyprus, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Emirate, Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen, Jordan, Oman and Bahrain. it has nearly 540 millions populations and is encompassing five important geopolitics area of the world (Central Asia, Eurasia, the Indian subcontinent, Persian Golf and Middle East. ft is located between Europe, the continent of Africa, Russia, China and India. In despite of thousands of years of civilization, historical back ground, cultural and religious communalities, great natural resources and capacities of development, this region is considered a less developed area in the world and there is no any mode of collative development cooperation. One of the ways to recognize South West Asia is qualitative and quantitative study of population and investigating population and social indices of the region, as it is believed socio-economic development in any region is depended on the quantity and quality of the population of that region. In another words, the result of demographic studies makes the bases for micro and macro planningʹs. To understand the population conditions of the countries of the region, one of the best ways is to compare statistical data, specially population information and indices of the countries and distinguish between the conditions of each country, by this, the status and position of any country, including Iran can be demonstrated in the region and the world. The given indices are: population, area, density of population, birth rate, and local total fertility rate, natural growth rate of population, literacy rate, urbanization ratio, rustication ratio, migration, and purchasing power parity.
