n Analysis of Applicable Strategies Regarding Womenʹs Participation in the Countryʹs Macro

The aim of the present research is to study the suggested applicable strategies for womenʹs participation in macro-planning from the point of view of female university academic staff. In order to carry out the research 40 academic staff women are selected by purposive sampling method from Shiraz University and Shiraz Medical University. Through an interview, the participants are asked about the applicable strategies for womenʹs participation in macro decision-makings. The gathered data are analyzed and categorized using content analysis and finally the responses are categorized into two major categories. The first category consists of strategies which should be performed individually by women, and the second category consists of strategies which should be performed collectively. The first category includes strategies such as "attaining self-believe", "supporting other women" and "womenʹs efforts to confront stereotype beliefs". The second category (strategies that should be performed collectively, either by women themselves or by the society) consists of : "long-term planning for teaching skills and increasing womenʹs abilities", "establishing nongovernmental organizations", "building appropriate culture in order to change attitudes towards women", valuing womenʹs abilities", "revising the laws" and "gradual turning over of the responsibilities to women". According to the findings, the results are discussed in relation to theories and thus executable strategies are suggested.
