The concept ofeducation in general has been a-major consideration in all communities.
Education is a means aimed at development and growth ofmankind. Its main goal is to set a
learning style for the learner and a mutual interaction between the teacher and the learner.
Education is one of the key aspects of the traffic triangle, forming its principles. The
prin cipl e of education in traffi c necessitates a wide domain ofinstructions, including clas sica
l trai ning from kinde r-ga rde n, elementary school, etc., training of tra ffic regul ation s
through media; and professional tra ining lik e tho se for road-user s (mo torists, passen ger s,
pedestr ians, etc .)
In this researc h , regard ing the potenti al danger for children and necessity of behavior
modification for safety mainten ance at thi s age, sev era l subjects have been considered
in relation to the role of education and culture . The sta tistica l community co nsists of 66
person s in pr e-element ary schoo ls inTehran , divided into two groups of33 .
The statistica l meth ods used in 22 distr ict s of Tehran were cluste r-like, random and
multi -lev el.
The que sti onnaire has 2 parts; behavioral obse rva tio n and researcher interview.
Data pro cessing has been used by mean s of statistica l tes t (T) for < integrated groups.
At first a primary test was given to both groups, reg arding their level of kno wledg e, comprehen
sion and traffic beha vior. Then the trial group was medi ated by training. Traffic
regulations related to this age were used in train ing programs, and the control group found
its way to second stag e ofthe test with no training. Then the seco nd group was confront ed
with the sec ondary test with the same questions.
The result s are shown below using analog ica l and descripti ve statistica l methods:
1. Educating children regarding possib le da nger s of traffi c, have direct and posit ive effect.
2. Educa ting and modifyin g traffi c behavior in children had dir ect and posit ive effect.
3. Educations had dir ect and positive effec t on promoting the ch ildr en>s co nce ption of
traffi c regulation s.
