چكيده لاتين :
Quality and efficiency assessment of health services is among the most important priorities for the IRAN Ministry of
Health. Patient satisfaction is an indicator of the quality of care provided by different health departments. This study aimed
to survey patient satisfaction with the Ali Ebne Abitaleb Hospital Emergency Department (ED).
Materials and Methods
This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on all J000 attendances within emergency department of Ali
Ebne Abitaleb hospital in September 2005. Data were collected by interviews.
Results
Results show that 19.1%of Patients were satisfied with medical staff while 7 1.9% were somewhat satisfied and 9% were
unsatisfied . Moreover 26 .5% of patients were satisfied with nursing staff while 63% were somewhat satisfied and ( 10.5%J
were unsatisfied.
Conclusion
Paying proper attention to ED attendancesʹ expectations can improve patient satisfaction and quality of care. Results
from this study could help health managers to recognize the current weaknesses within the management system and thus
to plan and action for optimizing hospital services.
