Developmental Education and Sustainable Development

Education is the main mechanism of society to resist against the great challenge of the century which is sustainable development. Sustainable development requires to Universalist, conscious, innovative and participant individuals with systemic thoughts and interdisciplinary and multi disciplinary intelligence. Production of human resources with the aforementioned characteristics requires to expansion of developmental education to reach to sustainable development. This is another challenge in the way of sustainable development. This article is to discuss the main elements of developmental education and its relations to sustainable education. These elements are: teaching skills and careers, teaching of institutionalizing of changes and innovation, teaching to strengthen understanding skills, teaching decision-making skills, teaching of research skills and teaching of self controlling methods. Therefore investment in developmental education and upbringing scientific, skilful, tolerable, researcher etc individuals can expand development process in all dimensions of society and educate individuals as the main development factor and promote the societyʹs indexes quantitatively and desirably.
