Study and Analysis of the Diversity and Foundation of Family in Ghaboos-Nameh Regarding Islamic View and Sociologistsʹ Beliefs

In this paper, family diversity has been studied by reference to the definitions and classifications of sociologists. The foundation of family and its surrounding issues are discussed and in some cases Islamic beliefs are expressed and the authorʹs ideas are evaluated according to these beliefs. In order to enter into our discussion of research, it is necessary to talk about marriage, the first step in the process of family institution, and its surrounding issues like age of marriage, choosing spouse, criteria affecting the choice process, and so on. Family members and each memberʹs position are also discussed in another part of the essay. Speaking about three age ranks of childhood, youth, and senility comprises another part of this essay. Finally, after referring to economy of family in Ghaboos-Nameh, family structure is introduced and defined in this book as nuclear family, monogamous, patri- ancestry (patrilinear), patriarch, exogamy, and nou-makan (new place). Although, the family described by Onsor-Almaalie, is a Moslem one, in some cases his vision and point of view is contrary to Islamic beliefs. Finally, it should be noted that this study is based on descriptive content analysis method.
