A comparative investigation on personality characteristics of Normal YS, Delinquent Adolescent Boys (13-17aged) in the city of Tehran

In the present research, the personality characteristics of delinquent adolescent boys, in the city of Tehran, has been studied and compared with those of normal boys of the same age.The goal of this ,research is toʹinvestigate delinquency as a damaging phenomenon, and to determine the relationships between the degrees of extr version,neuroticism,psycjoticism,and some other variables whith the delinquency of adolescent boys. The method applied to this reserch is the causative- comparative method. The statistical universe of the research consists of the whole population of ʹboy students who have been studying all Tehran high schools during the oneth semestes of the educational years 1381-82 as well as whole population of delinquent adolescent boys,aged 3-17,who have been imprisoned,in the second half ofthe year 1382,in the,jail. The sampling procedure applied to the normal group is cluster sampling in which the subjects have been chosen randomaly.Tr-e sample size of the delinquent group is 100 individuals delinquent boys imprisoned in the jail. The research instrumentation consist of self-evaluation Questionnaire, personal In formation Questionnaire and Eysenck personality Questionnaire, which,inself incl ufed the Lie scale and scale of extroversion, neuroticism and psychoticim. The statistical method used in the present research is discramination analysis.avalysis in spss software which is capable of predicting the possibility of group membership. The results of the primary hypotheses are follows: I-There is significant difference between the degree of extroversion of delinquent adolescent boys and that of normal adolescent boys. 2- There is a significant difference between the degree of neuroticism of delinquent adolescent boys and that of normal adolescent boys 3-There is a significant difference between the degree of psychotic ism of delinquent adolescent boys and that of normal adolescent boys.
