A Critique of the Way of Interpreting the Verses on Shafa ʹ ah (Intercession) by Al-Manar

There is a number (11 Qu r anic verses 10 the Ournn which refer to shafa ʹaft (intercession) and usc v.uious cxprc-vions for it. Shafa ʹ ali is a fact which is confirmed hy xutnc Qur ʹanic verses. The authors ofAI-lv1al1or Commentary hold that the \\ʹorJ situ/a -ʹati means domination of the \,,ʹi11 of [hose who intercede over that of Allah and so these authors oppose the possibility of the existence of slia]a ʹoh claiming that the idea of shaja ʹalI !~ ncg.ucd hv all Ourunic vcr...c..... The idea or sliaja ʹah, ucl uullv, doe.... not ~ugglʹS{ domination oj an intercederʹs will over the will of Allah nor docs it conttibu tc ro changing Allah ʹ:-, knowledge. Slia]a ʹah, however, is a divine law which dorninutcs the laws related 10 pcnaltv. The present article seeks lu criticize the way the aut hotx (IIAI-A1anar Commentary have interpreted "intercession".
