The investigation offactorial validity of Gray-Wilson personality questionnaire

The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the factorial validity of the "Gray-Wilson Personality Questionnaire" (GWPQ) in Iranian students. This questionnaire is the instrument which measures the activity of brain/behaviourial systems and has six subsca!es. To reach this aim, 408 students (173 male and 235 female) were selected through stratified random sampling and completed the GWPQ. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and minimum average partial (MAP) analysis criterion were exploited; consequently, the new six factors were obtained which did not correspond exactly to the a priori scales ofGWPQ. These findings concur with the findings of other countries which reveal: The factor analysis provides only limited confirmation of the a priori structure of the GWPQ. Even if the factorial structure of the GWPQ is unclear, the other experimental evidence will be necessary to evaluate the validity of this scale.
