The study effects of mutual contextual-personal and relationship-factors on marital adju stment

Happiness and satisfaction 111 marriage requires both couplesʹs efforts. Marriage compatibility has a direct effect on coupleʹs psychological health, life satisfaction, rate of income, educational success, and job satisfaction. On the other hand marriage incompatibility leads to Problematic social relationships. tendency for social deviations, and decline in the cultural values in both husband and wife. The main objec tive of this survey was to determine the effective factors involved in marriage compatibility and incompatibility. A descriptive research over nine hundred couples from different areas of Tehran, chosen by multi-phase cluster method, was carried outo Results showed that among all variables; premarital relations, intimacy during engagement, relationship between couplesʹ Family of origin couplesʹ parents adjustment, religion, and democratic family management have significaru role in marriage compatibility Data collection tools were the ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Scale and the self-report for Assessment Factors Questionnaire.
