Islamophobia in the West: Causes and Characteristics

After September 11, 2001 anti-Muslim and Islamophobia has rised dramatically in Western Societies. Content analysis of Western media and evaluation of remarks by some Western Officials is Proving that Pointing the Behavior of some radical groups, they aim to introduce Islam as a threat to the West. In the same time aimed at configurating the Western identity against the muslims, there is an effort by public media to introduce Islam as a threat against Western countries. This Article aims at analysing the historical, social and political roots of islamophobia in Europe to elaborate the root causes behind the extension of this phenomenon from different aspects.
